Why North Devon & Exmoor?

Why North Devon & Exmoor

Life is a journey.
Exploration should be part of our daily life.
In essence, the joy of exploring and of life is to know the place for the first time.

Our aim here at EXPLORING is to create extraordinary experiences that help foster those truths.
We do this by putting together fabulous holiday breaks, what might simply be called “walking tours in North Devon and Exmoor”.
But we believe they are much more than that.
Read on, and we hope you'll see why...

But first, here's a little tale...

It's been another good day's walk. On the warm side during the early afternoon, so you are feeling a bit of a healthy glow on your cheeks. A local, our guide has really helped to bring the day's walk alive - by regaling tales of the places we pass through and doing his level best to answer all of our questions.

Our day's trail has winded its way along the most dramatic and beautiful coastal cliffs in England - with far reaching views across the Bristol Channel to the very distant Welsh Pembrokeshire coast. Ahead of us, a headland jutting out west to sea, and a distant village in a sheltered bay. A picnic lunch has been provided and tastes so good in the open air, taking in the views. And all around, the cheerful song of Skylarks and the fresh smells of Spring.

The walking journey for the day has ended after cresting the last hill, and it's where an air conditioned van is waiting to transport us back to your chosen accommodation base in the stunning coastal villages of Woolacombe and Croyde. A quick shower and you're ready to try that traditional village pub you've been recommended that serves great local food and drink specialities. Getting set and excited for the next day's walk.

If that sounds to you like the makings of a brilliant day then please read on. Find out what EXPLORING brings to the mix to ensure you have all the support you need for having the most brilliant walking adventure in the beautiful North Devon and Exmoor countryside.

A really big difference

While exploring what we have to offer, keep in mind that no two of our guided walking tours of North Devon and Exmoor will be the same. We will always take into account what the weather is up to, the prevailing winds, the general make up of the group, and any special interests or requests that have been made.

We welcome all sizes of groups, from singles and couples on up to bigger private and mixed groups. So you can book a trip that's private to your own group or are happy to be part of a group with others.

We aim for you to have authentic and unique experiences that you wouldn't necessarily find travelling alone.
